Our Mission
Fife Canine Search and Rescue (FCSAR) is a specialist drone unit using advanced thermal imaging technology to help reunite lost pets with their owners.
We work closely with partner teams who provide ground search support, humane traps, and a wide range of specialised equipment. Our mission is simple: to reunite families and ease the distress of losing a cherished companion.
Operated entirely by dedicated volunteers, FCSAR is actively supported by the generosity of donors and sponsors who share our passion for animal welfare.
We never charge for our services. Every search we undertake is completely free to the families we help — your donations make this possible.
What We Do
Cutting-edge technology combined with experienced volunteers — we bring a comprehensive, professional capability to every search operation.
Full aerial SAR capability using both thermal and non-thermal drones, covering large areas rapidly — even in complete darkness or low visibility conditions.
Robust long-range walkie-talkie networks ensure seamless coordination between aerial units and ground search teams throughout every operation.
Dedicated volunteers and partner organisations providing comprehensive ground-level search support, humane trapping, and systematic area containment.
Expert weather assessment drawn from commercial airline operations experience, ensuring safe and effective flight in all Scottish weather conditions.

Getting help is straightforward. We respond as quickly as possible to every request — day or night.
Fill out our contact form or call us with details about your lost dog — location last seen, breed, and any other information that might help our search.
Our team rapidly reviews the situation and coordinates the right response — drones, ground teams, and specialist equipment all mobilised for your search.
We conduct a thorough, systematic search using thermal imaging and ground support to locate your dog and help safely reunite your family.
We operate entirely on the generosity of donors. Every pound contributed goes directly towards equipment, training, and operational costs — ensuring we can respond when a family needs us most.
